Healthy Aging and Wellness at Health Builders

Healthy aging can look different from one person to the next. You may be focused on staying active, keeping up with preventive care, improving your nutrition, addressing changes in your hair or skin, or talking about sexual health. Each of these can affect your health, independence, relationships, and daily life as you get older.

At Health Builders, we bring primary care, functional medicine, nutritional assessments, musculoskeletal care, platelet-rich plasma, microneedling, hormone management, and other integrative services together in one practice. That gives us several ways to help as your priorities change over time. You can come to us with a specific health problem, a preventive care question, or a desire to take better care of yourself as you age. We will help you understand which care or treatment options address your health needs.

How We Start Your Healthy Aging and Wellness Care

Your appointment starts with what you want help with and what you hope to protect as you get older. We take time to understand your health, review the information that can help us, and explain what we recommend from there.

01

Tell Us What You Want Help With

We start with what brought you in and how it is affecting your life. You may have questions about preventive health, nutrition, energy, movement, hair, skin, sexual wellness, or another change you want to address.

02

We Review Your Health and Previous Care

We review your medicines, supplements, past diagnoses, recent lab work, screening history, and treatments you have tried. If recent labs, imaging, or specialist notes relate to why you are coming in, bring them with you.

03

We Decide Whether Testing Would Help

We use testing when it can help explain a symptom, check a health risk, or guide treatment. The testing we recommend depends on your health, your symptoms, and what we are trying to understand.

04

We Explain What We Recommend

We explain what we found and what we recommend from there. Your care may involve primary care, functional medicine, nutrition guidance, a specific treatment, or a referral when another specialist should be involved.

Taking Care of Your Health as You Age

Your health priorities can change over time. Preventive care, nutrition, physical function, hair, skin, and sexual health can each affect how you feel and how you live. We can help you address these areas through medical care and integrative treatments available at our clinic.

Protecting Your Long-Term Health

Preventive care helps us monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, bone health, cancer screening, vaccines, and other needs based on your age and health risks. We can help you stay current with these parts of your care and respond when your health changes.

Staying Active and Independent

Pain, stiffness, injuries, and slower recovery can make exercise, travel, work around the house, and time with family harder. We offer musculoskeletal care to help reduce pain, improve movement, and maintain the physical abilities you rely on every day.

Nutrition and Metabolic Health

We use nutritional assessments to look at your diet, supplements, digestive symptoms, and medical needs. This can help us identify where changes in food or supplements may support your energy, muscle health, bone health, and blood sugar.

Hair and Scalp Health

Hair thinning can affect how you feel about your appearance as you age. We evaluate possible causes of hair loss and can use platelet-rich plasma or microneedling as part of care for some types of hair thinning.

Skin and Facial Rejuvenation

Skin texture, tone, and firmness can change with age. We offer aesthetic platelet-rich plasma and microneedling to support collagen production and improve visible skin texture.

Sexual Health and Intimacy

Sexual function can change with age, hormones, circulation, medical conditions, and medicines. We offer penile PRP for erectile-function concerns and vaginal PRP for sexual wellness and stress incontinence.

How We Can Help With Healthy Aging and Wellness

At Health Builders, we can help you address different parts of your health as you get older. Your care can include preventive medicine, nutrition, treatment for pain or limited movement, hair-loss care, facial rejuvenation, or sexual wellness. We recommend the services that make sense for what you want help with and your medical needs.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Your Appointment

Knowing what to bring and what happens during your visit can make it easier to prepare for your healthy aging and wellness appointment.

Before Your Appointment

Complete your new patient forms and bring a current list of medicines and supplements. Bring recent lab results, screening records, imaging, specialist notes, and information about treatments you have already tried when they relate to the health issue bringing you in.

During Your Appointment

You will have time to talk about the part of your health bringing you in and how it affects your day. We review the records, medicines, symptoms, and test results that apply, complete an examination when needed, and explain whether additional testing or treatment would be useful.

After Your Appointment

We explain what comes next. That can include primary care, testing, functional medicine, nutrition changes, musculoskeletal treatment, platelet-rich plasma, microneedling, another service, or a referral based on what your health requires.

Questions About Healthy Aging and Wellness?

Tell us which parts of your health you want help with, any changes you have noticed, and which treatments you are considering. We can answer questions about scheduling, current services, and what to bring to your appointment.

What Does Longevity Medicine Mean?

Longevity medicine is a broad term for medical care focused on maintaining health and function as you age. Preventive care, physical activity, nutrition, sleep, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, bone health, and age-appropriate screening are all important parts of long-term health.

You may also hear the term healthspan. Healthspan describes the years you remain healthy and able to function well. At our clinic, we approach healthy aging through established medical care and specific integrative services that address your health needs.

A family medicine or primary care doctor can help with many parts of healthy aging. Primary care includes preventive care, common medical conditions, medicines, screening, and referrals when another specialist is needed.

Other parts of healthy aging can involve functional medicine, nutrition, musculoskeletal care, gynecology, urology, dermatology, or another field depending on the health issue. Our clinic combines primary care with several integrative services, allowing us to address many of these needs within one practice.

A nutritional assessment looks at what you eat, which supplements you take, digestive symptoms, medical conditions, and other factors that affect your nutritional needs.

The assessment can help identify useful changes in food or supplementation. Laboratory testing can also be considered when it can answer a specific nutrition or metabolic question. Nutrition can then be addressed alongside the rest of your medical care.

Yes. Microneedling uses very small needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin or scalp. This triggers a healing response and collagen production.

On the face, microneedling can improve skin texture and visible signs of aging. On the scalp, it can be used as part of hair-loss care because the healing response can stimulate activity around hair follicles. The treatment depth and number of sessions depend on the body area and reason for treatment.

Facial PRP uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood. The platelet-rich portion contains growth factors, which are proteins involved in tissue repair and collagen signaling.

Aesthetic PRP places the platelet-rich preparation into the facial treatment area as part of facial rejuvenation care. The goal is to improve skin quality and address visible signs of aging. The exact technique and treatment schedule depend on the area being treated and the procedure being performed.

PRP is used in sexual-health care because platelets release growth factors involved in tissue repair and blood-vessel signaling. Penile PRP has been studied for erectile-function concerns, while vaginal PRP is used for sexual wellness and stress incontinence concerns.

These treatments involve different anatomy, symptoms, risks, and treatment goals. We offer penile and vaginal PRP injections and explain the specific treatment being considered before care begins.
